Get The Most Bang For The Buck

What I should say is get the most number of chews for the calories. I am trying to use a play on words, but what I really mean is if you eat a low calories snack, you can eat a lot more and consume fewer calories. But you already knew that. I recently discovered Quaker Oats Company “Quakes”, small rice cakes that come in a bag like chips. Actually they taste a lot like potato chips to me, and have that satisfying crunch when you bite into them.

I used to buy rice cakes for my kids when they were little. They ate them until they discovered there were WAY better tasting snacks out there, and the packages of rice cakes started to accumulate in the closet. I finally gave up, threw all these packages away and stopped buying them. Even I wouldn’t eat them. But these Quakes are great! I introduced them to my Mom and sister a few days ago and now they are hooked too. It’s a win-win situation. You can eat 14 of them before you nudge close to 100 calories and should stop. I try not to eat more than 100 calories when I am snacking.

Try them, you will like them!

Caution: they are somewhat addictive, so be careful to measure out the number of them that you want to eat and fold up the package and put it away. It would be easy to eat the whole bag in one sitting.
