Bad Publicity For Restaurants May Be Working
In the past few years, he insanely high calorie count of foods in some notorious restaurants has been exposed by the press. I saw some top 10 lists, restaurant dishes with the most calories. All of the dishes mentioned contained more calories that most people need in an entire day. Yesterday, the Today Show has a segment commending some restaurants for reworking the recipes or eliminating some of these foods. These calorically-responsible restaurants are Baskin-Robbins, Romano’s Macaroni Grill and Ruby Tuesdays. Click here for the write-up of the segment on the Today Show.
Meanwhile, I went to the Cheesecake Factory website looking for nutrition data and didn’t find it. They don’t want us to know how many calories are in their food because they know no one would order food there. So I emailed them and asked. I got a fairly quick response. Here is what it said:
Thank you for your interest in The Cheesecake Factory. Although we do not currently publish nutritional information on most menu items, we are working towards doing so in the future. As a prelude to this project, we have introduced a variety of Weight Management Salads as well as low calorie salad dressings, for which caloric information is available at our restaurants upon request.
Additionally, we remain open to most modification requests, and offer smaller portions of long-time, favorite dishes at lunchtime. We are committed to meeting our guests needs and believe that these are just a few examples of our efforts to provide a wide variety of choices when dining with us.
Thank you for contacting us and have a wonderful day!
Interesting that they thought I was asking whether they have low calorie foods, that wasn’t what I asked for.
