Healthy Foods

My local health food store puts out a newsletter that I just love to read. This month,  it talks about ten healthy food, some of them were surprising. For example, it has this to say about the chocolate bean, my personal favorite. In fact, if I had any chocolate in the house, I would be eating it now. (See my post on not keeping any diet-breaking foods in the house!)

Cacao (the chocolate bean) is a profound antioxidant.  Unfortunately, cacao is usually synonymous with white sugar, white flour and hydrogenated oil.  But it doesn’t have to be.  Cacao has been shown to reduce wrinkles, strengthen the structures of the vascular system, and improve circulation to the brain.  Due to caffeine content and other reasons, you don’t want to eat enormous amounts of this one….
