Build Muscle To Help Lose Weight

Did you know that muscle burns more calories all day long than other kinds of body tissue? Yup! Older people who are trying to lose weight complain that if they ate 3 carrot sticks per day, they still would not lose any weight. Well, okay, that is an exaggeration, but as we age, we are less active, which causes us to lost muscle mass and then we don’t need as much to eat.

So go to Target, or Sports Authority, or another store that sells free weights, or weights you can strap on your ankles or wrists, and get busy building muscles! Besides burning more calories at rest, you will fell better and be able to do more lifting around the house, even bringing heavy grocery bags home.

It only takes a few minutes a day. You can do it in front of the TV. Some cable channels have exercise shows that show you how to lift weights properly. You could tape the show to work out while watching it when you have time.
